Evaluation Criteria
The evaluation criteria are fundamental to ensuring that higher education institutions and businesses meet the quality standards established by the INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION AND ASSOCIATION FOR HIGHER TEACHING AND BUSINESSES . The main criteria include:
Academic Quality
Evaluation of the curriculum, teaching methods, and student learning outcomes. Institutions must demonstrate that they offer relevant and high-quality programs
Faculty
Analysis of the qualifications, experience, and ongoing training of the faculty. Educators must have the necessary credentials and engage in professional development.
Infrastructure and Resources
Evaluation of physical and technological facilities, including libraries, laboratories, and online resources. Institutions must have sufficient resources to support learning.
Governance and Management:
Analysis of the organizational structure and decision-making processes. Institutions must have clear and effective governance.
Accreditation Process
The accreditation process is a rigorous and systematic procedure that involves several steps to ensure compliance with established criteria. The steps include:
Accreditation Application
The interested institution must submit a formal application, including documentation demonstrating compliance with the evaluation criteria.
Self-Assessment
The institution must conduct a comprehensive self-assessment, identifying strengths and areas for improvement, and prepare a detailed report.
External Evaluation
A team of external evaluators, composed of experts in the field, will conduct a visit to the institution to conduct interviews, observe practices, and review documentation.
Evaluation Report
After the visit, the evaluation team prepares a report that includes their findings, recommendations, and an overall assessment of the institution.
Accreditation Decision
Based on the report, the Board of Directors will make a decision regarding the institution’s accreditation, which may involve approval, deferral, or request for more information.
Maintaining Accreditation
Maintaining accreditation is an ongoing process that ensures institutions uphold quality standards. This includes:
Periodic Re-evaluation
Institutions will undergo regular re-evaluations, typically every five years, to ensure they continue to meet accreditation standards.
Training and Development
Institutions are encouraged to provide ongoing training for faculty and administration, ensuring that best practices are adopted.
